FAQ
Worth knowing before you book
What is the difference between headshots and digitals?
Headshots are styled, lit and retouched for casting and representation. Digitals use simple clothing, clean light, minimal makeup and no retouching. A standard set includes full-length, profile, waist-up and close-up images, along with any views requested by your agency.
How many looks should I shoot?
A first portfolio generally benefits from three distinct looks: commercial, editorial and a third that shows range. For an existing book, the session can be planned around the images and categories currently missing.
What should I bring?
Bring the wardrobe planned for each look, along with several alternatives. Simple, well-fitting pieces in solid colors generally photograph better than busy patterns or prominent logos. For digitals, bring plain, fitted clothing and arrive with minimal makeup and natural hair.
Studio or location?
Both are included. Location provides atmosphere and a sense of place; studio provides controlled light and clean backgrounds. Digitals and most commercial headshots are typically photographed in studio.
How fast will I get my images?
Digitals are delivered the same day. For all other sessions, a gallery of selects is delivered within one week. Final retouched images follow after selections are submitted. Expedited delivery is available.
Is a deposit required?
A 50% retainer reserves the date. The remaining balance is due on or before the session.
How far ahead should I book?
Two to three weeks is recommended for wardrobe, location and production planning. Shorter lead times may be available.
